Don’t Let Batteries Ruin Your Shipment! 3 Key Compliance Docs for EU Export

We’ve helped 10+ smart device clients avoid this: great products, but non-compliant batteries = weeks of delays, fees, and lost revenue.

Just ask suppliers for these 3 docs to prevent it:

CE Report (3 directives)
- LVD (electrical safety, EN 62133), EMC (anti-interference, EN 55032), New Battery Reg (2023/1542, mandates QR code + chemical type).
- Avoid suppliers who only show a CE mark (no itemized reports)—German customs seizes these often.

RoHS 2.0 Test Report
- Check cadmium (≤100ppm), lead (≤1000ppm). Covers all parts (cells, casings, wires)—we’ve seen clients rework products over skipped wire tests.

EPR Registration
- For Germany/France: Get country-specific IDs (e.g., German EAR, French PRO Europe).
Without it, customs detains goods.

Tip: Add these 3 docs to your procurement contract. Specify “suppliers bear losses from non-compliant batteries” to cut risk.
